Hello, and welcome to my website!

I’m Jenny Oldknow, a painter from the gorgeous county of Derbyshire, in the heart of England.

I create vibrant, impressionistic oil paintings that transform ordinary places and everyday moments into joyful celebrations of light, colour and the beauty of the familiar.

A quiet, sunny corner of the @hoptonhall rose garden last month. I unfortunately dropped the little oil painting (pics 3, 4 & 5) face down in the grass, so now it's dry I'm going to finish it off in the studio. I don't actually like to continue
This oil painting, painted from life in my studio, is now available to purchase from my online shop. 🎨 'Roses in a Cornishware mug', oil on 12x12" museum quality @ampersand_art panel Link in bio and in my stories now. #stilllife #artforsale
I really wanted to get out and paint today, but I've felt exhausted (I've got an autoimmune thingy), so instead I sat and made a colour wheel using my usual @mhpaints limited oil paint palette. 5 colours - titanium white 2, Unbleached titanium dioxid
This evening I sat outside and did a watercolour sketch of the plant I painted earlier. I was so engrossed in it that I didn't realise how dark it got! 🪴🌺 #penandwashsketching #penandwatercolour #penandwaah #watercoloursketch #sketchbook
A lovely morning for a garden still life 🪴 Oil on 8 x 8" board #paintfromlife #pleinair #pleinairpainting #pleinairpainter #oilpainting
I can definitely recommend the @boxnpaint paint storage box for any plein air painter. It fits perfectly in my @strada.easel -it keeps paint separated and I remove it after use and pop it into the freezer to keep the paint fresh and useable for longe
'Soleil', oil 8x8" gessobord. Sharing another sunflower painting, and another sunflower emoji, or three! 🌻🌻🌻 #sunflowerpainting #floraloilpainting #flowerpainting
